Westlake Fundraiser
SY, Westlake, D42E
On Tuesday, September 20, WHS Key Club hosted a fundraiser with Chick-Fil-A to help support the club. The fundraiser took place at the Chick-Fil-A in Westlake Village, where it lasted from 4-8pm. All mobile drive-throughs, mobile carry-out, and mobile curbside pick-ups counted towards our fundraiser, with 20% of the funds going toward our club. In total, we were able to raise $198.78! Raising funds for our club during this time is especially important to help with raising money for Fall Rally. Having this fundraiser after a school day was a great way for students to treat themselves to some delicious food! Having a mobile order fundraiser was especially a good idea, as more people are shifting towards mobile orders when ordering food. Having more mobile order fundraisers in the future will be a great way to ensure the success of our club. Overall, this fundraiser was a great success and also a great way to raise money for our club!
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser
RG, Royal High, D42E
Royal High School’s Key Club has been selling Krispy Kreme at their home football games. All funds raised through the Krispy Kreme sales go directly to the Pediatric Trauma Program which Royal’s Key Club has been supporting for a few years. There has been a tremendous amount of support from our club’s members who volunteer at the table selling donuts along with promoting the sale. There has also been amazing support from the spectators of the game who help raise the funds for the Pediatric Trauma Program. With continued support from Royal High School’s Key Club members who help make the sales possible Royal’s Key Club hopes to continue supporting the Pediatric Trauma Program!
Rock Painting Night
RG, Royal High, D42E
Simi Valley Youth Council hosted a Rock Painting Night which Royal High School’s Key Club promoted all month long. The Rock Painting Night was in support of suicide awareness. It was great to see so many members of Royal’s Key Club at the event supporting the community as well as raising awareness for suicide. The turnout was great and it was an amazing event to be able to promote at the Royal High School Key Club meetings. It is always great to see so many of the members actively participating in a community event, especially one as amazing as this one!
Stress Balls
Canyon, D16N
On the 22nd of September, Canyon’s Key Club collaborated with Sports Medicine to host a really amazing service project event. NN, a sophomore at UCSB, reached out to us about her non-profit organization, For Future Lungs. It focuses on bringing awareness about the risks of tobacco use in Vietnam. In order to help this organization and also have fun, our club made stress balls out of balloons and flour. Using a funnel, members attached a balloon to the bottom and slowly poured flour inside. Once tied up, they placed them into a ziploc bag and stapled on pieces of paper with their own creative and positive affirmations. Club member, ZO said, “The stress balls were really fun to make. I like how we were able to conjoin two clubs and help benefit those struggling with lung health due to tobacco. I hope our stress balls were able to make a difference and our messages created good vibes to those who are recovering.” By the end of the day, our club was able to put together over 70 stress balls, assembling 35 out of our 350 hours for this month. Though it was a little bit messy, everyone had a lively experience while also supporting a great cause!
Craft Tea House Boba Sale
CL, Alliance MIT, D16S
On October 7, Alliance MIT held our official homecoming to display our first annual celebration at the high school and a chance to reflect on students' memories so far during this year. Further, it allowed students-led community services organizations and others to start raising money to generate tons of profit for our clubs and primarily for the school. Our key club set up concession stands and advertisements throughout the school that marketed three varieties of boba flavors: Thai, Taro, & Horchata. Our club made tons of earnings as our only product sales and gave to the enormous crowds that attended that evening. Lastly, our club made nearly $600, a higher objective fulfilled than we expected to accumulate that night. Thanks to those scholars and the principal who helped us raise enough afterward. Half of the earnings will be good service for the school's budget and the rest to our boarded Key Club Organization.
