Dads Read
CL, Marina, D43
On July 12th, Marina Key Club helped out the Marina Library with their Saturday Dad’s Read in which the members helped set up tables with clothes that were donated, the kids play area, and helped out passing out food with the Monterey Food Bank. “I love helping out with the dads read every other Saturday. It is definitely my favorite type of event to do and host in key-club”- Jasen Kolone, Marina High Key-Club President. “This was so much fun and the fact that they had goats at the event made it a fun time” - Isabella Zyrene Ortman, Marina High Key-Club Member.
Los Altos Pet Parade
JS, Homestead, D34S
The annual Kiwanis Los Altos Pet Parade is a fantastic opportunity for any Key Clubber who loves service and animals! From passing out stylish ribbons to cheering on parade participants, this volunteer event is packed with fun, fulfilling activities. My fellow Key Clubbers and I met several dogs of various breeds, a pig, a cat in a stroller, and even a bearded dragon! I highly recommend this event to any future Key Clubbers, I can assure you that you'll have loads of service-filled fun!
Lowell Bake Sale
NN, Lowell, D34N
On the weekend of July 7th, Lowell Key club hosted a bake sale to raise money for various causes such as lowering the costs of FRN for members and for future bondings. At the corner of West Portal, Lowell Key Club sold multiple different baked goods which included, ube shortbread cookies, oatmeal raisin and sugar. The most popular were the banana bread and chocolate chip cookies which actually sold out. They fundraised from 11am - 2pm and were able to raise over $200 after costs were accounted for. Lowell Key Club hosted this bake sale as not only a fundraiser but a sort of bonding event for the officers. Officers were able to connect and inform the public on Key Club and what Key Club does. There was a lot of support from neighbors and even a previous Lowell Key CLub president.
UNO-TC
JN, Kalaheo, D22K
On June 28th, Kalaheo Key Club officers attended the 2025 Key Club Officer Training Conference (OTC) where a total of 9 Key Clubs from the Komohana division came together to meet! This year’s OTC was held at Castle High School, and offered our club a unique opportunity to meet fellow officers, share ideas, and connect with Key Clubs from other schools. On this day, we did fun icebreakers and attended breakout sessions tailored to each officer role. As someone who took part in this experience, I received a lot of valuable advice that will definitely help me in the long run for this year! Key Clubs also got the chance to participate in a scavenger hunt where we did things such as take pictures and interact with other clubs. The most notable part of OTC was UNO-TC, where we played the Key Club spin of Uno and got to race each other. This year, the Key Club editors (myself included!) claimed victory in UNO-TC and won special edition trading cards as a fun prize! We wrapped up the 2025 OTC with a one-hour campus beautification project for Castle High School, where officers came together to pull weeds, pick up litter, and more. Doing the very thing Key Club stands for was definitely the best way to end the day. Kalaheo Key Club’s current executive board is incredibly grateful for the chance to meet and connect with all the other clubs. Thanks to the OTC, we left feeling prepared to do our best for this year’s Key Club.
