Breast Cancer Awareness
ED, Narbonne, D19S
On Tuesday, October 15, Narbonne High School held its third annual breast cancer awareness walk to raise awareness about the disease. As participants walked around the track, they contributed to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. Narbonne's Key Club organized a booth at the track to promote awareness.
At the booth, students could write positive notes to show their support for breast cancer survivors and current patients. Many students participated by writing encouraging messages like, “You got this,” “Keep on fighting,” and “Kick cancer in the butt!” Both students and staff appreciated the opportunity to express their support for those affected by breast cancer.
Fall Rally South
JH, Pacifica, D42W
ON NOVEMBER 9TH WE HAD FALL RALLY!!! Which was held at... SIX FLAGS! We all got up at like 4am... we were tired but PUMPED! We were bubbling with excitement! We made sure to get all the forms out of the way and made sure everyone was there. When we finally got on the bus all that could be heard was laughter and clicking of cameras! We even got to go over all our chants! Some members were even playing charades and some were playing cards. WE HAD OVER 30-36 MEMBERS ATTEND! And we also had 2 of our advisors as well! When we arrived everyone was anxious to go inside already! We all put all our energy and heart into or chants! We also did a great job of memorizing all the lyrics and movements! We made sure to stay positive and kind during the whole event! And after we all got together to take a division photo and also a school photo and then we were able to go around the park everyone had an amazing and fun time! All members got to go to at least two or more rides since it was pretty packed, but we also had our fellow division members to keep us company! We also got to meet a bunch of other divisions, which was super cool and we had a bunch of people go around and ask us “How do we feel?!??” And we responded with all our spirit! At the end of the day, I know everyone had so much fun and we all definitely fell asleep during the ride back! OVER ALL IT WAS A AMAZING DAY!
Faith Community Trunk or Treat
OA, Faith, D28S
Faith Lutheran Community Church hosts an annual trunk or treat for members of the church and the community. This event is one that Faith’s Key Club has participated in several times, and we always have a fantastic time. Volunteers helped to run games in the center of the church for kids and families to participate in. We got to organize, set-up, and run the games at the Trunk or Treat. It was so much fun to see the kids and parents participating in fun activities for halloween. In addition to hosting the game, members also decorated their cars with different themes and helped pass out candy to the trick-or-treaters. It was so cute to see all the kids costumes, and so much fun getting to pass out candy.
Supe-RTC
NP, West Career and Technical Academy, D28N
My last RTC as a senior was so bittersweet. Being able to relive the experience I had as a sophomore going to her first in-person RTC was felt emotional. As the video historian, my job is to capture videos and occasional pictures but this year, I was able to capture my last memories with this club. I LOVED our theme; our costumes and gags were so cute, especially our mewing one. Even though we didn’t win, I’m so happy to be able to spend my senior year with an amazing Key Club board and we pushed through.
Region 5 Training Conference
LS, Damonte Ranch, D23
On October 26th, 2024, I had the honor of attending Region 5’s Training Conference with our Immediate Past LTG/current District CM Chair Izzy in Vegas! It was an amazing experience seeing the spirit and rallies they had with over 1,000 members in attendance. They had a superhero theme and I loved seeing all the clubs’ unique spirit gear and individual chants. I presented a workshop about AAR (Annual Achievement Report) and bonded with some Vegas Key Clubbers doing some karaoke. The whole day was so fun but definitely tiring. Thank you so much to the Region 5 team and Division 28’s for having me there!
