Cranes for Cancer

JN, Centennial, D15S

During the month of October, on the 4th, Centennial High School had a fun and short after school service event where we got together and made origami Cranes for Cancer. Our members wrote short supportive messages within the cranes as a little message for cancer patients. Overall, our members as well as the officer board had a blast in learning and creating a bunch of little cranes despite how some of them struggled to figure it out at first. A big thanks to all the members who came by after school to send some messages through cranes, and a shout-out to the officer who guided us in the folding process!D15S Cranes4Cancer1D15S Cranes4Cancer2

Halloween Spooktackular

AF, Claremont, D15N

On October 19th from 2-5 pm at Lewis Park in Claremont, Key Clubbers helped the city get into the Halloween spirit by helping run the city of Claremont’s free annual Halloween Spooktackular. Games varied from costume contests to spooky scary stories, and they even had accommodations for special needs families in the community with their special needs sensory zone. We mainly helped out with running the carnival game booths and seeing the little kids light up when they won a game brought a smile to all our faces. One of the cutest games we got to run was the costume contest for dogs! Cute little dachshunds in hot dog costumes and towering danes in basketball costumes all walked around in a circle, and we observed to see which really brought the Halloween spirit. This event brightened our moods along with the cities, and I’m grateful that I could be a part of such a fun community activity.

D04W Halloween Slime Party

D.D., Segerstrom, D04W

My name is Delanna Dinh and I attended Segerstrom High School’s Cross Slime Party.
This slime party was a collaboration with CSF, RED CROSS, PPA, and KIWINS.

We spent roughly around $80 for this slime party, which was free to attend when RSVP’d but $5
upfront!
We had cups and filled them with glue, as well as provided many accessories
and decorations such as glitter, foam beads, food coloring, shaving cream, instant fake
snow, and many more.

This slime party was truly a success as we had a high amount of
attendance and many smiles! At one point, our principal, Mr. Casper even stopped by
to visit our slime party. We saw so many creative slimes and everyone had so much fun
making them in the plaza!

El Dorado Club Rush

A.N., El Dorado, D30N

El Dorado Key Club has been hard at work with our club rush where we gained hundreds of new members, first general meeting of the year with a room full of attendees with free boba served, and having frequent board meetings to discuss service opportunities and upcoming fundraisers.
