Region Training Conference
ADG, West CTA, D28W
RTC was one of the best days ever in my life. I am so grateful that I was able to experience it in person! I am so happy that I was able to be with my friends for 12 hours straight and watch them cheer until their throats were sore and cry literal tears of joy. I am extremely proud of them! RTC definitely brought my school’s club closer together- I feel like WCTA Key Club is one big happy family. I also had a great time meeting new people from other schools and divisions, and watching every school’s cheers. I could see that everybody worked so hard practicing their cheers and keeping up their spirit from 8 AM to 8 PM. I love how everybody worked together to make RTC an unforgettable day of just pure excitement and spirit and friendship. I love Key Club!
FRS
PR, D3N
My FRS experience was absolutely mind-blowing. Gathering in one location with all the keylubbers truly made me realize the influence and impact key club had. The spirit sessions were especially eye opening as I was in awe of all the individuals who were a part of the program and the unity we created. Seeing the enthusiasm and spirit of the members inspired me to take a larger role and impact within key club.
Tote Bags
Canyon High. D16N
On Sunday, October 16, Canyon had a collaboration event with the Key Clubs of AOC and Valencia to paint our tote own tote bags while raising money for PTP. In the afternoon, we all gathered at the picnic area of Valencia Heritage Park and started off the event strong with a fun rock-paper-scissors ice breaker to see which school would be able to get their bags first. Once everyone settled down and started painting, they were extremely focused on making their awesome designs. It was amazing to see all of the creativity that every member had, and because of it, we held a tote bag contest where everyone voted on the best tote bag. One of our own members, Hannah Nguyen, was the lucky winner with a really cute unicorn tote bag, and in return, they received a large unicorn plushie for even more UNI-spirit! Member Jaden Quimson said, “It was a really fun experience and a great way for me to meet other people in the division. I’m also glad that I was able to have fun with my friends while also supporting a good cause.” Though this event got a little messy, it was a great opportunity to raise money for PTP, hang out with friends, and design a tote bag with a personal twist. We hope to have more collaborations and fun events like this in the future!
FRS Prep
CL, D16S
These past few Saturdays in November, some of our members have been preparing for Fall Rally South! In our meetings, we have informed them about the requirements that are needed to attend FRS, the spirit sessions being one of them. As officers, we have recorded ourselves doing the chants so our members can see/hear and memorize the chants they missed or just so they can practice the chants with us! We have given another opportunity, to the members that need it, to gain service hours by participating in Free Rice so they can complete one of the FRS requirements. Overall, we have been preparing ourselves for the thrilling event and we are so excited to share the experience with more people.
LTN
NS, Chatsworth Charter High School. D16W
Light the Night was an event where members can help with setting up booths, hand out lanterns, or help guide event attendees during their walk to either spread awareness for leukemia and lymphoma disease for someone who had died from it, is a survivor, or knows someone who has it. A total of two members attended the event from Chatsworth. Event attendees received different colored lanterns depending on the reason that they were attending the event.
