Be the Match
AD, Arroyo, D35W
To kick off the school year, Rosemead and Arroyo Key Clubbers worked together in an interclub event at the popular 626 Night Market at Santa Anita Park. Both clubs volunteered for Be The Match, an organization that is the global leader in bone marrow transplantation and connects patients with their donor match for a life-saving marrow or blood stem cell. Members educated night market goers about the national blood marrow program, and about how joining the registry could save a life. Throughout the night, both clubs spread lots of awareness about an important global cause. This event not only united donors to patients, but united our Key Clubbers together, getting to know each other and our shared Key values.
Gregori General Meeting
LG, Gregori, D46N
This meeting was mainly focused on preparing Gregori Key Club members for Fall Rally North, including preparation dates and dues. The meeting went smoothly, and all the officers assigned to speak were present. I appreciated how the members were attentive and seemed interested in committing to FRN this year. My favorite parts of the meeting were when members asked questions about FRN, which meant they were paying attention.
Bridging Hope
JS, River Valley, D14
River Valley Key Club participated in the Walk for Suicide Awareness and Prevention. Although it was rainy, our members still showed up! We made posters, led groups on the walk, and helped with cleanup!
Martial Arts Event
GS, Selma, D05S
On October 7th, Selma High Key Club helped out their local martial arts club at a tournament. We also have our Kettle Corn Fundraiser going on right now. Thankfully, the event organizers allowed us to sell our Kettle Corn at this event. With this being said, we were able to raise a bit of money whilst helping out at this event. Though our number of volunteers wasn't as high as we wanted, we still did our best by helping out. It was a lot of fun and a change of pace compared to the other events that we volunteer at.
Night Market DCM
YA, Lincoln, D13W
On October 7th at South Gate Park, Lincoln Key Club attended the Night Market DCM as a vendor. The club sold delicious cronuts for just $3.00! Although they were just cookies, they sold like hot-cakes would! Members had lots of fun bonding with people from other other clubs in our division and Division 19 South as they checked out other booths and bought from clubs. Between icebreakers and marriages, the Night Market DCM was certainly an adventure!
