Bake Sale
RN, El Cerrito, D02N
During the month of July, we raised over $600 at the Kensington Farmers’ Market selling a variety of baked goods! Our officers each brought a few things, and we had a pay-what-you-want system going on. Many were already familiar with our sponsoring Kiwanians and were pleased to see that legacy continue with local high schoolers. It was great to inform parents and community members about Key Club at ECHS, since school clubs don’t typically have a strong presence outside of school. We were able to meet so many new people, young and old, and we’re excited to continue hosting bake sales there throughout the term.
Zoo Summer Concert
KD, Roosevelt, D22H
Throughout the summer, Roosevelt Key Club along with other clubs such as Iolani, Punahou, and Kalani helped out with various activities at the Honolulu Summer Zoo Concert. This was a weekly project every Wednesday on 6/14, 6/21, 6/28, 7/5, 7/12, 7/26, and 8/2 from 4:30 to 7:00. Some of these activities included running raffle booths, welcoming people at the front gate, and running a coloring contest. This was a great opportunity for many of us as it gave many of the members something to do during the summer and to also give back to their community.

Food Pantry Volunteering
RD, Damonte, D23
Damonte’s Key Club recently had a Food Pantry event that was really fun! We put food in bags and gave it to families in need. It was really nice seeing everyone after the summer break. We all enjoyed what we did for the Food Pantry and especially for the people in need. I hope to see more events like this in the future!
Officer Training Conference
IS, Crescenta Valley, D03N
As an incoming officer, OTC really helped me learn more about what Key Club means and the descriptions and responsibilities of each officer's position. OTC was a fun experience and I was able to meet new people from different divisions and different clubs within my division. The presentations gave insight on how to effectively lead my club to success and overall, how to become a better leader. OTC is an experience that I will never forget!
Linstrom Elementary Set-Up
EA, Mayfair, D13N
On August, 5th, 8th, and 9th, Mayfair Key Club hosted a service event at Esther Lindstrom Elementary to help our fellow lions kick start the new school year! On the first day, we painted awesome posters with encouraging growth mindset messages to encourage the lions to do their best all year! We also helped teachers set up informational signs and create decorations to finalize classrooms. On the 9th, we focused on wrapping up more classrooms, reorganizing books, and adding final materials on desks for the students. All in all, I hope they have a successful first day and school year! I genuinely enjoyed helping out in preparing for the upcoming school year and I wish them the best of luck. With that being said, school’s ALREADY starting and I hope for this year to be amazing for you all! MONKEY OUTTTTTT!!!!!!
