Pancake Breakfast

Sv, Claremont, D15N

This month on Fourth of July, Claremont Key Club and Kiwanis came together in order to serve our fellow veterans and community. We gathered bright and early in the morning and prepared DELICIOUS pancakes, sausages, coffee, and juice. After preparing all the food and beverages fellow officers and members worked together in order to serve the food, beverages, and hand out condiments and silverware. We even went the extra step to where when we were serving a little kid they received a Mickey Mouse shaped pancake. Overall, the event was a great success which allowed us to form better connections with not only our fellow members but also our fellow Kiwanis. It was also so nice to see so many people from our community come together and support our event while also socializing and enjoying themselves. I can’t wait for next year’s event, and hopefully we will have an even bigger turnout.

Concert in The Park

Cd, Eleanor Roosevelt, D15S

On July 29th, Eleanor Roosevelt’s Key Club volunteered at our local Concert in the Park! This event occurred towards the end of the day around five pm to 9 pm. Only the officers had volunteered at this event, as only three to five were needed. Ning, Anne, Alena, Wendy, and Sam were fortunate enough to have helped Kiwanis in their booth! We had partnered up with JCSD and Kiwanis to hold a fifty-fifty raffle. Our officers were in charge of selling and managing the tickets and money. This included ensuring every ticket was kept and all the money was intact. We were able to raise money for ourselves and give back to the community as the winner had been someone local to Eastvale. At the end of the event, we raised 1,424 dollars and half of this money was given to Kiwanis! Furthermore, 712 dollars can be used to support our Kiwanis or Key Club with some of the essentials we may need in the future, as school is coming back up!

Rapha Tea Corona Fundraiser

Nw, Centennial, D15S

On Friday, July 29, Centennial Key Club hosted a fundraiser at Rapha Tea Corona. This event helped us fulfill our goal of at least 1 fundraiser per month. In the image, on the left hand side, we see Meagan Maglente along with her friend Annette Truong at the Rapha Tea fundraiser. Originally, our fundraiser was scheduled for Saturday, July 30. However, after further consideration, it was rescheduled to the day before. This was because July 29th was senior orientation for Centennial and we would expect a higher attendance if we hosted the fundraiser on the same day. This rescheduling worked in our favor as we raised more money for PTP than our last fundraiser. The total amount raised has not been finalized.

OTC

Mt, Gabrielino, D10S

Fear. Joy. Disgust. Anger. Sadness. These are the 5 emotions we are all born with. What better way to recognize them than at Inside OTC 2022! Division 10 South hosted Officer Training Conference on July 16th to train and educate both officers and general members more on Key Club-related topics! Some members of Gabrielino Key Club even had the amazing opportunity to become a presenter! Upon arrival, members noticed that this annual event embodied the elements and message of the movie, Inside Out. Not only were all the presentations decorated with Inside Out characters and gifs, but our lovely Division Publicity, Andrew Han, also made an Inside Out-themed poster that became the center of the show in group photos! Not to mention, there was also a memorable portion of OTC that focused on mental health. Members were able to hear about challenging experiences from different perspectives and learn more about how they can better face their obstacles. Overall, our members enJOYed this fantastic opportunity to meet members from other D10S schools all while learning about Key Club!

Save The Turtles

Jl, Temple City, D10N

t’s time to Save the Turtles, Ninja Turtles! On July 24th 2022, Division 10 North gathered together for a plastic fundraiser and sorting event at Temple City Park! Save the Turtles service was a Service, Social, and Fundraiser! All members gathered all the plastics and cans they could find from around the house and brought them to the park to sort. In order for the plastic to be given to the recycling center, we had to sort the plastic with their corresponding recyclable numbers at the bottom of each piece of plastic. For example, all 1’s would go together , all 2’s together, and so on. While jamming out to music and getting to know each other, we collected all the sorted pieces of plastic in large trash bags and successfully recycled 10+ bags of plastic. Finally, we dropped it off at our Local Recycling Center, Sunset Recycling. We raised a total of about $28 from 10+ bags of plastic!
