Ocean Beach Cleanup

During the Ocean Beach Cleanup, I worked individually to clean the coast as I could not find the other Key Clubbers. Using my plastic bag and gloves, I started by picking up trash along the pathways people were crossing. I wasn't able to find much litter at the beginning other than some plastic wrappers and cigarettes. When I searched in a more isolated location; however, I found tons of trash that were likely left there for a long time. I was able to fill my bag with a large quantity of garbage after some time. It was interesting to me how there were various types of material left on the beach and how the older age of the garbage makes it blend more with its surroundings. I eventually found our club members and grouped up with them at the end of the service event to discard the pile I had collected.
