BCA Bracelet Making

In the month of October, Sunny Hills Key Club was filled with different activities. We had a successful meeting where we went over collecting club dues, spirit nights, Fall Rally South, and our upcoming service project. We had a ton of people show up. Also, we had our service project of the month. We partnered up with Creatives for Social Change Club (CSC) to make beaded bracelets to support breast cancer awareness. The bracelets were full of a variety of pink beads, charms, and letter beads and were really fun to make! Finally, we attended the division spirit nights where we got to learn all of the new cheers for Fall Rally South!
Paper Crane Making

This event was held at the same time as our campus cleanup on August 29th, but took place before members had gone outside to pick up trash. We provided two papers for everyone to make two paper cranes, and informed them to put an inspiring, and kind message on the crane. We are going to send these paper cranes to a cancer society or a psych ward. For this event, our school allowed us to use our media center/library that had many seats for people to use. It was a lot of fun for the members, as they were able to kick off the school year by bonding through a community service project with their friends. Our members and officers present had earned 30 minutes of community service per paper crane.
D13S Boba Bee Fundraiser

Rancho Dominguez Key Club attended the September DCM and the D13S Boba Bee Fundraiser on September 7th! My club and I had quite a few members and board members attend to gain more knowledge on the goals, events, and plans for the purpose of trying to prepare for club rush and enhance the growth of our club. Our club and the rest of the group played games and ice breakers throughout the DCM; like Mingle from Squid Games. To serve our community at SERVETEMBER, we also held a small clean up at Heartwell Park. After that, we supported our fundraiser by getting some boba from Boba Bee, which was conveniently close to Heartwell Park after our DCM. Through this fundraiser, Division 13 South would receive 15% of profits, which would all be forwarded to the Pediatric Trauma Program. This event was both an informational and fun event for our club’s newer members to get a taste of what Key Club is like!
John Glenn Club Rush

On August 27, our school had our Club Rush event. Key Club got a table for themselves and was able to make a poster board prior to explaining to new students who showed interest in what Key Club is. The Club Rush ended successfully as we got up to about 34 sign ups this year. During the events we explain and introduce to other students about what is the point of Key Club and how the club can bring you benefits and how the club is helping our community into a better place. We also have flyers and give out sweet treats to those who signed up. Over all it was great to see many students showed their interest in Key Club and like to join the club.
SV Pride Parade

This month our club was able to break all time Bellarmine Key Club records by hitting 60+ hours served. Moreover, we were able to serve this much thanks to the handy Division newsletter that put us in touch with the San Jose Pride Celebration Organization that gave numerous opportunities for helping set up, run, and close pride booths. Our members of course had a lot of fun and meaningful experience serving the local LGBTQ community. Jasper Shih ‘26 was especially a help to the club in setting this event up as he pushed our leadership to provide him the necessary hours before a lazy second semester. Whatever the motive was, we all benefited through this meaningful service experience!
