Clothing Distribution
GT, River Valley, D14
To complete River Valley Key Club’s clothing drive, we helped distribute the clothing we collected to those in need. We sorted the washed clothing into boxes by size, folded jeans and other pants and set up tables. It was a very successful giveaway and a lot of clothing was taken, and the rest leftover was donated!
Jingle Bell Run
AT, Clovis West, D05N
Merry Christmas, Corgis! In the holiday spirit our members recently volunteered at the Fresno Jingle Bell Run. The Jingle Bell Run was a way to support the Toys for Tots campaign, and we were proud to help this cause. We were in charge of handling hot chocolate, water, and snacks to the runners as they crossed the finish line, as well as cheering them on. We hope to participate in next year’s run!
January Kiwanis Meeting
KG, Gregori, D46N
During the Kiwani’s meeting, many Kiwanians gathered at about 5 separate tables at the American Graffiti Museum. They discussed the new year for the club and played a donation game in which they shared memories of the year. People joined the meeting through Zoom as well. The meeting was concluded with acknowledging birthdays and anniversaries.
Potluck & Christmas Cards
CM, Apple Valley, D36N
Last month before Christmas break, AVHS’s Key Club had a potluck to celebrate the last meeting until the new year. Key clubbers brought cookies, brownies, chips, and drinks. Not only did they all eat food together, but also discussed the activities for the upcoming new year, and made Christmas cards while listening to music.
Astronomy Day
AK, Green Valley High School, D28E
We were fortunate enough to be able to volunteer at the Children’s Discovery Museum! We helped out with their astronomy day and it was so much fun! We got split into groups to run stations throughout the museum. Myself and a few others got to help with making nebula spin art! We used paint and a salad spinner to make awesome art that the kids got to take home and keep. Overall it was such an exciting environment and I'm so glad we got to experience it!
