Aloha Run

FIC, Bellflower High School, D13N

On August 21, the Bellflower Key Club participated in Division 13 North's Aloha Run service event at Shoreline Aquatic Park in Long Beach, California. It was a fun run with a Hawaiian theme from the 1980's, with themed live music and dancing. The Aloha Run was the first club event I ever attended. I was nervous as I entered the venue. But a lot of people approached me, and I gained a lot of new friends in a short period of time! Before we were assigned to our tasks, we were handed volunteer shirts. We cheered on the Aloha Run runners while other members assisted at the water stations, registration, pre-race check-in, and other tasks. We gave the runner's high fives to encourage them to keep going till they reached the finish line. We thanked them for their participation; it was a tremendous feeling to be able to help people who helped make the Aloha Run possible. Aloha Run definitely gave me an extraordinary first club event, a memory to treasure, and people to cherish!
